Subject and word count

The stories should be loosely based on the theme of ‘exchange’ and can be no longer than 3,000 words.

Deadlines

The competition deadline is September 30th 2009. We will have a short list posted on this website by the end of October and a winner and runners up will be announced before Christmas.

How to enter

Please send your submission by email to competitions@longwortheditors.com, with ‘exchange’ as the subject heading and post a cheque for £20 made out to Longworth Editors Ltd. Once we’ve received the cheque, your story will be submitted to the competition panel. If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer, please email info@longwortheditors.com for our details.

Reportage competition

For aspiring non-fiction writers, Longworth Editors also holds a reportage competition each year. Entries are judged by a panel of journalists and non-fiction authors. Details of this competition will be announced in June 2009.
